YOU LIE! Can’t the Obama’s, or the Democratic Party for that matter, stop lying? I was listening to the radio and reading an article on line and came across a report that hours after urging reporters not to draw sweeping conclusions from Tuesday's gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs (AKA Baghdad Bob) said Barack Obama wasn't even keeping an eye on the results. "He's not watching returns," Gibbs said. (For those of you who don’t remember, al-Sahhaf “Baghdad Bob” claimed that there were no American troops in Baghdad, and that the Americans were committing suicide by the hundreds at the city's gates. At that time, American tanks were patrolling the streets only a few hundred meters from the location where the press conference was held. I have given the nom de plume to Mr. Gibbs for his ability, like al-Sahhaf, to lie to the media with such a straight face that he probably believes his own words.) Apparently President Obama was watching an HBO documentary about himself ; AGAIN! Robert Gibbs said ‘well, he was actually watching, you know, the HBO special about his year-long campaign and how it all went.' Apparently Gibbs thought it would look better if the commander in chief was watching a self-indulgent fawning documentary about himself rather than pay attention to the election returns that many say would be a bellwether of his Presidency. Interestingly, Obama apparently previewed the HBO special a few days earlier, as Gibbs himself explained to the blog Talking Points Memo: “White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says Obama has already seen ‘By the People’...Gibbs told TPMDC Obama’s review: ‘Thumbs up!’” Of course it was! Obama loves watching anything that features him as the star. He is “the chosen one” after all.
As recently as 2 days before the election, President Obama stumped in New Jersey for incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine, who has struggled in an uphill battle for reelection against former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, a Republican. In Tuesday's White House press briefing, Gibbs “Baghdad Bob” dismissed suggestions that the two governor's races and a special election in upstate New York could be a preview of the 2010 congressional midterms. He knew that he had to keep the expectations low. Obama and Biden also made stops in Virginia for Democrat Creigh Deeds but, in usual Obama style, threw him under the proverbial bus early on when it was decided he had no real chance against Bob McDonnell, a former Virginia attorney general.
To recap; The President of the United States makes numerous trips to New Jersey to stump for the incumbent, Jon Corzine, pitched Corzine's bid as a “key component” for the White House to make good on its political promises, had bumper stickers and t-shirts with Obama/Corzine and then tells us that he wasn’t even keeping an eye on the results. During the opening scene of a newly released documentary on HBO, “By The People,” which chronicles his journey to the White House. Mr. Obama, who at the time was a freshman senator and had just finished traveling coast-to-coast on behalf of Democrats once said, “My goal is every candidate I campaign for, I want to win — every single candidate,” With a smile, he looked directly into the camera and said: “I love elections! It’s so much fun. It’s even more fun when you’re not on the ballot.”
Does anyone believe he wasn’t glued to the television watching the returns? Probably even watching FOX NEWS! Maybe he was thinks we believed the story about Michelle sitting on her daddy’s lap watching Carl Lewis in the Olympics and we will believe he wasn’t concerned.
One more important point to make; everyone that Obama campaigned for LOST –every single candidate! Obama didn’t campaign for Owens, a Blue Dog Democrat and rabid conservative according to the Daily Koz, who narrowly defeated Conservative Party (3rd party) candidate, Doug Hoffman, who began the race as an after-thought. Had the Republican In Name Only (RINO) Dede Scozzafava not endorsed the Democrat (like a RINO would), the Republicans might have even taken that race. It will be a Republican seat again after the 2010 election.
